How to make working out a habit

We all know a few people who never miss their workouts no matter what their schedule is. (ME). And that is because working out becomes a habit. It becomes the thing you do when you wake up, just like brushing your teeth. It becomes a way of life. Here are some tips that will help with making this healthy jump into your life.
1. Get up earlier. If you workout from home have your workout ready to go for the morning and your clothes set out. Same for if you are going to the gym. Set your alarm now and have everything ready to go the night before. I believe working out in the morning is the best way to start your day. I also believe if you work out in the morning it will become a habit faster because you will never miss it. If you work out at the end of the day you can become tired, or something may come up and you have to miss it. Not to mention working out brings endorphins and to have that workout high before you start your day is setting you up for great things ahead :) Overall, work out the same time every morning.
2. Find your soulmate workout. Find a workout you just absolutely LOVE and master it. That may take you trying all different things at first and that is okay. I am a HUGE believer in cross training and always doing new things to keep your body guessing and to let your body not naturally plateau like it does when you are dropping weight. I have done spinning, body pump, ballet barre and HIIT training all in one week. I always like mixing it up because I dont want to get bored with my workouts either.
3. Hire a trainer. If you need more guidance and motivation, hire a personal trainer to help you. Join a fitness group online for motivation. This will help you set goals. It is always worth the investment if you are working on yourself. The best project in life you will ever work on is yourself.
4.Start taking fitness classes. If you need the extra motivation, working out in groups would be perfect for you. Its a way to meet other fitness friends and classes are always fun. You won't stop in a class you will continue to the last minute so give that a try as well. Exploring all your options is always best.
5.Keep a fitness and nutrition log. Start a journal with your workouts and what you are eating daily to help you realize what you need to cut back on or what you need to add to your daily routine. Plan ahead. Have a schedule. Stick to it.
Soon enough exercise will be something you don't even think twice about. It will be a ritual. It will be what you do when you wake up. I get up around 4 am every day. I have a handful of almonds and pour myself a big cup of coffee. I do a little work on the computer for an hour and then by 5 am I am starting my workout. I look forward to my 4 am wake ups. I am a stay at home mom so this is my time. Yes its early but I love it because no one else is awake. By the time the kids get up I have already accomplished a lot and I am feeling awesome. When you do this enough, you won't even have to set your alarm anymore. You will just wake up.
Soon enough you will be an exercise addict too! :)
